The first stick

For a child who is starting out, the essentials are a light and very flexible stick with a shaft small enough to grip. A soft stick lets them lift the puck without forcing and enjoy the game from day one. The stick should reach roughly the chin with skates on; if it is longer, trim it.

Left or right?

The dominant hand usually goes at the top of the shaft, so a right-handed child normally plays with a left-hand stick. If it is not clear yet, it is a good idea to try both positions with a basic stick before deciding. And for any question, message us on WhatsApp.
