Wheels, your contact with the floor

Wheels are the part of a hockey skate that wears fastest and changes the feel the most. They are chosen by size, which is set by your chassis, and by hardness: softer wheels grip more and are ideal on smooth, polished floors; harder wheels glide better and last longer on rough surfaces. The player's weight counts too: the heavier the player, the slightly harder the wheel.

Bearings and maintenance

Bearings determine how smoothly and how fast you roll. Standard-grade bearings are perfectly fine for most players; high-end bearings show in speed and durability. With a clean and a drop of oil every few weeks, good bearings last far longer. If you do not know which size or hardness you need, check your current wheels or message us with your skate model.
