Protection and feel

Hockey gloves protect the fingers, the back of the hand and the wrist from sticks and pucks without taking away the feel you need to handle the stick. Tighter-fitting models give more control; roomier models, more comfort. The liner and palm matter too: a good palm grips the stick well and lasts many seasons.

Getting the size right

Size is measured from the fingertips to the elbow, and the glove should cover the wrist without reaching the elbow pad. A glove that is too big moves around and protects less; one that is too small pinches.
